Tributes paid on Vijay Diwas in Hyderabad

A wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Veerula Sainik Smarak near General K.V. Krishna Rao Parade Ground in Secunderabad on Monday to commemorate Vijay Diwas and honour the memory of the heroes who sacrificed their lives in the 1971 India-Pakistan war.

The ceremony witnessed the participation of veterans, students from Army Public Schools, soldiers, and senior armed forces officers, who paid tribute to the bravehearts by offering flowers and laying wreaths at the War Memorial. The chief guest, Air Vice Marshal P.S. Wadodkar, Commandant of the College of Air Warfare, also paid his respects during the event.

Vijay Diwas is celebrated annually on December 16 to mark India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war, which culminated in the liberation of Bangladesh.
