State Highway 2 closed in Bay of Plenty after serious crash

State Highway 2 near Ōpōtiki has reopened after a serious crash.

Earlier, emergency services were working at the scene of the two-vehicle crash, police said.

The collision was reported about 2pm on Saturday, near Dunlop Road, Waiotahe, blocking State Highway 2, they said.

The Transport Agency Waka Kotahi said the highway had been closed west of Ōpōtiki, between Woodlands Road and Paerata Ridge Road.

It reopened shortly after 7pm.
