Purchasing luxe bedding or a comfy new mattress is always a good idea during Black Friday weekend. A good night’s sleep keeps your mental and physical wellbeing in check and you’re much more likely to feel productive and motivated when you wake up.

As a result, though, the best quality mattresses do tend to run on the pricey side — it’s not unusual for a top name to set you back well over £2,000. That means that, if you're wanting to upgrade your sleep game, the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales make the best time to do it.

There are usually big discounts of up to 50% off some of the UK’s best bed and mattress brands (Simba and Emma Mattress, we’re looking at you), so you can bag a top-quality item at a much more purse-friendly price. Here’s everything we know about the best Black Friday mattress deals for 2024 — and which discounts are already live.

What should I think about before purchasing a mattress?

It is essential to find a mattress that works for you. Do you struggle with backache and need a firm mattress? Or are you looking for something soft and squishy to sink into, like a memory foam option? Think about this before you make your purchase.

These are big-ticket items, so it’s worth getting them right to maximise the benefits of the discount season.

What is Black Friday?

Black Friday is an annual sales event that sees partaking brands reduce prices on most lines. It kicks off on the last Friday of November until the following Monday, known as Cyber Monday — so-called as historically, it was when brick-and-mortar stores ended their discounts, and online retailers picked up.

Now, most sales are held online, although some retailers launch fresh deals to mark the end of the weekend. Black Friday was originally a US tradition to mark the end of Thanksgiving. It first came to Britain in 2010, courtesy of Amazon’s inaugural Black Friday sale.

When is Black Friday?

This year, Black Friday is from Friday, November 29th, until Monday, December 2nd. However, some retailers offer deals earlier in the month. Amazon typically offers early bird discounts to Prime members, for example, so it’s best to stay alert throughout November to ensure you don’t miss out.
