When is the next Fortnite update? Early patch notes for the update heralding Juice WRLD's arrival
Fortnite's final update for Chapter 5 is almost here, and it's expected to prepare the game for the upcoming Fortnite Remix: The Finale live event.
by Joseph Kime · The MirrorAnother update is expected to hit Fortnite before the end of Fortnite Remix Chapter 2, and it'll finally bring Juice WRLD and his new POI to the island.
Fortnite Remix Chapter 2 is finally nearing its end, and players are in two minds about it. Of course, there have been a few streamer meltdowns around the throwback to Chapter 2’s gameplay style that has made players feel that, actually, the balancing of the era wasn’t exactly up to scratch – but Fortnite players who aren’t taking it that seriously (and why would they) are enjoying the dose of nostalgia. It’s not all old stuff, though, as a multitude of rappers have come to the island, with Snoop Dogg taking over The Compound, Eminem arriving as an NPC in the Mom’s Spaghetti restaurant, Ice Spice taking over Shark Island. Now, Juice WRLD is coming to the game to prepare for the game’s final live event of Chapter 5, ahead of Season 6 starting. It’s an impressive blend of the new and old, and it’s made for a mini-season to remember.
There are more updates to come, though, as the game prepares to deliver on the lofty promises of Fortnite Remix: The Finale as it bridges the gap between chapters. So, it bears asking – when is the next Fortnite update? Here’s what you need to know about the incoming update.
When is the next Fortnite update?
The next Fortnite update is expected to land on Thursday, November 21. Players are still waiting on confirmation from Epic Games, but considering reliable leaker @ShiinaBR is expecting the update to hit on this day and the fact that a new update will have to launch soon to bring Juice WRLD and the Fortnite Remix: The Finale live event’s files to the game before they go live, this is the best estimation out there right now about when the next Fortnite update will drop.
Epic Games' update timings have been out of whack since it rescheduled its Fortnitemares update, delaying downtime by a whole day. Players have struggled to predict update downtime times since, but with downtime for update 32.10 starting at 9am GMT / 4am EST / 1am PST, we'd expect the downtime to begin at a similar time for the upcoming update.
Fortnite update 32.11 early patch notes
There are many things we can expect to see in Fortnite update 32.11, as leakers have been revealing on Twitter – here’s everything that has been leaked to be coming in the next update, as revealed by @Hypex:
- Two Juice WRLD skins (including the free skin offered to players who play the game on the day of Fortnite Remix: The Finale), featuring a contrail that plays music
- An Eminem and Juice WRLD 'Godzilla' Emote
- The arrival of the Juice WRLD POI and Chug Cannon Mythic weapon
- Chapter 6 teasers across the game, including in Fortnite Remix: The Finale
On top of this, there are several bug fixes to expect from the update, as revealed by the ongoing rotation of resolutions in the Fortnite community Trello board. Here’s what's marked as 'Fixed in Next Game Update' on the game’s board, but don't expect leagues of changes:
Battle Royale / Zero Build
- Can’t accept notifications while in a match – Players may be unable to respond to notifications (e.g. party of friend invites) that appear during a Battle Royale match. Temporary workaround: Players should still be able to interact with notifications via Sidebar menu
…That’s it. Sorry to disappoint, but as of right now, Fortnite isn’t displaying much in the way of fixes, even with the update expected to arrive in the next couple of days. At least leakers are reporting a lot of changes that we can look forward to.
