Actor Shamita Shetty slams IndiGo over off-loaded bags, airline responds

Shamita Shetty criticised Indigo Airlines on social media after her luggage was offloaded without communication. IndiGo responded, claiming they attempted to contact her.

Actor Shamita Shetty had a harrowing experience with Indigo Airlines recently, which she shared on social media. Shamita revealed that her bags were offloaded from the aircraft without any communication from the airline.

In a video on X, Shamita shared that she was travelling from Jaipur to Chandigarh for an event when Indigo Airlines offloaded her and her hairdresser's luggage due to weight issues. "I am stuck at the Chandigarh airport. I have travelled from Jaipur to Chandigarh on an Indigo Airline and my bags were just offloaded without informing me," the Mohabbatein actor said.

She continued, "I have come here for an event. My hairdresser's bag and my bag were just offloaded because of some weight issues. Am I not supposed to be informed before something like this is done?"

Shamita shared that she was asked to wait for the next flight from Jaipur to Chandigarh to retrieve her luggage, which was scheduled to land in Chandigarh after her event was over. "Ground staff didn't even know how to help us," the actor added.

Sharing the video, Shamita wrote on X, "Pardon my French but Indigo airline ur a pretty S*** airline to fly on! N the ground staff is totally useless! Think twice before flying on this airline! @IndiGo6E #indigo a total no no! (sic)."

IndiGo reacted to the video, claiming that Shamita was contacted by the airline but that their calls went unanswered. "Ms. Shetty, we apologize for the inconvenience caused and would like to address the matter. We tried to contact you on the registered number, but the calls went unanswered. Could you please DM us an alternate contact number and a convenient time for us to reach out? ~Team IndiGo," read their comment on the actor's video.

Earlier, actors Shruti Haasan and Divya Khosla had also shared their poor experiences with IndiGo.
