St Brigid's have been crowned the 2024 AIB Leinster Intermediate Camogie champions after a titanic tussle with Naas in Glenisk O'Connor Park Tullamore on Sunday afternoon.

St Brigid's 1-10

Naas 1-9

It was Naas who opened the scoring in the 2024 AIB Leinster Intermediate Camogie final as Caoimhe Maher pointed a free after a foul on Naas' number 14 Ciara Ryan. St Brigid's then started to play the Camogie which got them to where they are as they got the next four points without reply. Eimear Hassett got St Brigid's off the mark after five minutes from a free which was given due to Naas' Niamh Hegarty over-carrying the ball.

Aisling O'Dea set up Hassett for a second score as she pointed from a tight angle. Aiva Coss got off the mark for their third point before Hassett scored her third of the contest to make it 0-4 to 0-1 with nine minutes on the clock. Naas replied with two scores from the hurl of Maher, one from a free and one from play.

Hassett tapped over another free with O'Dea fouled on this occasion while she also slotted a 45' between the posts to leave the teams at double scores, six points to three. St Brigid's corner-back Danielle Healy denied a certain goal as she made a great interception on Allie McGrath just as she was about to pull the trigger. Naas did get a goal soon after as Laura Dunne came out to meet a ball in from Aoife Stynes, only for Ciara Ryan to nick the ball off the hurl of the St Brigid's goalkeeper and blast the ball into an empty net. Amy Quinlan made a great tackle to pervent Ryan a second goal with Aoife McDermott picking up the loose ball to split the posts and push Naas in front for the first time since the first score of the game.

Naas' lead didn't last long as Hassett raised a green flag a minute later. Clodagh Tynan's long-range free hit the upright and dropped into the square where Hassett was quickest to react to blast the ball into the Naas net. St Brigid's led 1-6 to 1-4 at the break. Laura Finlay got St Brigid's scoring underway in the second period with Allie McGrath replying a minute later. Maher and Hasset traded frees before Amy Daly and Hassett scored from play to push St Brigid's four points ahead with 15 minutes to play.

Allie McGrath got a second point for Naas with Aoife McDermott doing likewise to cut the gap to two. St Brigid's were propelling everything that Naas were throwing at them to ensure that the trophy would cross the Laois-Offaly border. McGrath pointed a third of the game to reduce St Brigid's lead to one with two minutes to play but St Brigid's held on for the victory.
