Waterspout Spotted Near Penang Airport, Sparking Concern Among Malaysians
by Fadzly Hanaffi · WORLD OF BUZZSimilar to tornadoes, but over water, waterspouts can be divided into two categories—those that occur in fair weather and those categorised as tornadic waterspouts.
Probably not the latter, this netizen managed to capture a fair weather waterspout occurrence near the Penang Airport at Bayan Lepas, Pulau Pinang.
In the 30-second video, the waterspout occurrence was rampant before dissipating into the clouds shortly after.
Taking into account the comments section, netizens had this to say.
“I have a flight to Medan tomorrow, and this is scary.”
“I work nearby the beach and never in my life, have I ever seen such an occurrence,” said another.
We are happy to report that the occurrence had no devastating impact and is merely an exhibition of natural wonder.
You’ve got to admit that this is cool!
